Pointing people to Jesus

Pointing people to Jesus

You may have heard by now that a church in Maryville, Illinois was having it’s worship service this morning when a man walked into the church and fatally shot the pastor. God forbid, if that were to happen at Grace, how would we take it? I encourage you to go to the website of the Maryville church. They are using this opportunity to point people to Jesus. That is exactly what their pastor would have wanted them to do. Good times and horrible tragedy, God’s people point others to Jesus! He’s worth it, friends.

Where was the security?? Didn’t people notice that he had a gun?? But the people did react and keep him from killing anybody else or himself that was good.

Apparently, he concealed the gun until he was up by the pulpit, but I read in one article that some of the members thought that it was a drama skit that went along with the sermon. They said that the first bullet hit his Bible, and it had the effect of confetti. It just didn’t seem real to them.
