Many of you know that we recently purchased new hymnals for the sanctuary. In fact, many of YOU helped purchase them. Songs are so important to expressing our love for God, our need for His grace, and our gratitude for His blessings; but hymns and spiritual songs also are important for our instruction. When the songs are biblically based they sink God’s truth deep into our hearts. Let’s face it, you’ll forget my sermons, but a well written lyric with a singable tune will stay with you for years and years.

We’re doing two very special things during our worship service this Sunday. First and most importantly, we’re dedicating the use of these power-packed songbooks to the Lord’s praise and service. Secondly, we’re saying thank you to each one who paid for a hymnal. We’re going to do lots of singing this Sunday, and you’ll even get the chance to choose your favorite hymn for us to sing (so be thinking about it what you might like).

Following the service, we’ll serve refreshments in the Fellowship Hall. I hope you’ll stay and visit with us.
