Tomorrow my family and I will leave for vacation. We spend a week at the beach with Shannon’s extended family each year. We’ll be gone Friday the 19th until Saturday the 27th. I won’t have access to email while I’m gone, and I’ll only be checking my voice mail periodically, so if you need something, you should contact either Jake or your Sunday School teacher or one of our deacons. Jake will preach Sunday, and the Wednesday group will continue their discussion through the life of Jacob.

 Also rolling right along without my presence will be the Youth Sports Camp. Jake and the summer missionaries are currently in their 2nd week of the program. Things seem to be going quite well, averaging 25 a day with few discipline problems. The children are being taught wisdom from the Proverbs and life skills. In addition to our summer missionaries, Jerome Battle has been faithful each day to assist with the children, and we’re very grateful.

Don’t forget that we need to continue to show genuine New Orleans hospitality to our summer missionaries. Take one home with you this Sunday for lunch and get to know him or her.
