“Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”
With the words of the Prophet Amos frequently on his lips, Baptist pastor Dr. Martin Luther King called his own generation to justice and righteousness on behalf of the oppressed. In honor of Dr. King’s fight for social justice, Grace Baptist Church will be hosting a lecture in his name. This year’s topic will be “Modern-Day Slavery: It’s Reach and Solutions” to be delivered by Dr. Trish Hawley, former professor of Women’s Studies at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Faubourg Marigny resident.
- Wednesday, January 20 at 6:30 PM
- Grace Baptist Church Fellowship Hall,
- 3900 N. Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA
This is free and open to the public; however, this lecture will not be appropriate for children. A children’s Bible study will be available on site for ages 7 and up.

I really wish we could be there…any chance you guys are recording it? We need to set you up with a podcast…
We’re having the lecture in the Fellowship Hall. I don’t really know how to record it there. (Not sure if I would know how in the sanctuary.)
As an honored constant guest of Grace Baptist Church I must say a very moving heartfelt thank for last nights conversation Modern-Day Slavery: Its Reach and Its Solutions. Dr. Trish Hawley and the members of Grace that shared in the conversation were not selfish in sharing. Then conversation was enlightening and empowering. I truly believe the moment, the second one becomes informed is the moment, the second one becomes EMPOWERED!
Keep up the great work GRACE!
