Resurrection Victory for Your Life!
Christ has been raised from the dead!
When he delivers the kingdom to God the Father
after destroying every rule and every authority and power.
For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
-1 Corinthians 15:20, 24-26
Feeling defeated lately? You need to get to know my conquering Captain.
Jesus Christ has destroyed every rule and authority and power. All has been put under His feet. He’s even destroyed death itself and will one day raise up all His followers so that we can enjoy His presence forever.
That glorious day will come soon enough, but the reality of His victory in your life can begin today. All who turn from themselves to embrace Christ in faith enjoy His victory even today. I know. Sometimes you don’t feel like it, but according to Scripture, we are united with Jesus in His death and resurrected with Him to walk in the newness of life.
Victory… newness of life… forgiveness of sin… the ongoing presence of God.
This is why we celebrate. This is why His people have gathered on “the Lord’s Day” for the past 20 centuries. This is why we have peace and hope.
I hope that you’ll not let this season of victory go by without the sweet communion of our Captain and His people. Please join us at Grace as we celebrate His victory in our lives each Lord’s Day.
As yesterday was Palm Sunday, we celebrated Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem and meditated upon His death while observing the Lord’s Supper. We’re also excited to have baptized Devin Parkman and “T” Wright, two new brothers in the faith, and to hear another great performance of the Grace Gospel Choir.
On Good Friday at 6:30 p.m., we’ll have a simple service of hymns and Scripture to remember Christ’s death for our sins. Easter Sunday, we’ll celebrate Christ’s resurrection through the great, old, resurrection hymns and Scriptures. Grace in Motion will provide a powerful choreography of the resurrection, and the children will decorate the cross with flowers—symbolizing new life from the death of Christ. All the children are encouraged to stay after the service for this year’s egg hunt.
May God bless you with a strong sense of His victory this Easter!
