And the grand total is $2,409.00. We did it; the Youth of Grace Baptist Church have raised the money needed to attend Mission Fuge 2011. What is Mission Fuge you ask? It’s only the most exciting, intense, heart throbbing, soul quenching, blood pumping, nerve wrecking, back breaking, sing at the top of your lungs, friend meeting, hunger feeding, Christ centered, heart healing, mission focused camp that Lifeway puts on every year, and our youth get to partake in the journey that will better them .
The Youth of Grace Baptist Church get to engage in a week long mission camp to serve the inner city of Nashville, Tennessee and it will focus on getting the youth to see things that are going on in their own city but are blinded to it because familiarity and comfortability of being trapped in their own world for so long, they can’t see what’s around them. So this camp takes real life situations and put it in front of our youth’s eyes and helps them confront, reflect, and act on them and also allow our kids to get a taste of a different culture, different from their normality, and experience how youth their own age act from around the country.
We get to see lives and hearts change by our service to them, to see communities brighten up by the Jesus in us serving them, to hear the laugher of kids singing praise to God as we conduct VBS’s in the apartments parking lots, to give support to workers of soup kitchens as they feed to countless homeless in that city, to see God claim his city and hear him say job well done my good and faithful servant. Kind of wish you were going huh?
Thank you, Grace Baptist Church for your support, prayers and giving. This mission trip would have not been possible without your help.

The Youth of Grace Baptist Church is going on our first trip to the Youth Evangelism Celebration in November of 2010. We will have a fun and God-filled time learning about God’s will for our lives and how it will look once we return home and back to school. This conference will equip us in becoming a better leader in our community, church, school, and home. The message of Jesus Christ will be shared clearly and consistently so that any student can understand and respond to Christ as the invitation to follow Him is given.
Recent studies have shown that there are 36 million teenagers in America today. It is the largest generation ever in American history. The bottom line…there are a lot of students that need and must hear the life changing message of Jesus Christ. Louisiana statistics show that there are more than 360,000 teenagers in our state. In 2009, only 2,014 teenagers were baptized. That’s less than 1% of the population. Our children need to hear and understand the gospel.
The trip will take place on November 21-22, 2010 in Lafayette, Louisiana. We will be staying at a local hotel there in Lafayette. The total cost of the trip is $110.00, but the students will pay $55.00, and the other half will come out of our youth budget. All meals (to, at, and from the conference), registration, hotel, transportation are include in the cost. There will be opportunities to purchase additional items such as t-shirts, books, music, etc., that are not included in the trip cost and are at the student’s expense. There is a mandatory non-refundable deposit of $20.00 by October 10th 2010 if the student wishes to go. This is to insure we can secure a hotel. More detailed information will be handed out at a later date.
